Red Bull as a brand is no stranger to gaming appearing in many games over the years from WipEout on the PlayStation 1 to Guitar Hero 3 and many many in between. So when the marketing guys at Red Bull heard Sony have a new system that will allow 3rd parties to create spaces and promote their products you can bet they were among the first to knock on Sony’s door and say we’ll have a piece of that thanks very much.

So what exactly is an energy drink going to bring to home? Well Red Bull sponsor more events then i can list, they run many of their own and have chosen to throw in the Red Bull Air Race as their gaming link. The Red Bull space will have a tropical island feeling to it and you’ll get to fly a plane in a game based on the Air Race. Many people have jumped to the conclusion that this will be homes very own Flight Simulator but it’s more likely to be a 2D game either side scrolling or like Pilot wings on the SNES running on a now familiar Arcade Cabinet. Newer games in home have featured rewards so at a guess (and remember this is a guess) you can possibly expect the following prizes to be included:

* Red Bull T-Shirt
* Red Bull Air Race Plane Statue
* Virtual Can of Red Bull (product placement at it’s best, people putting cans in their apartments and clubhouses)
* A pair of wings that can be worn by your avatar (Red Bull has been claiming for years that it gives you wings, so now faced with the possibility of actually being able to do this, will they go for it?)

Like i said, these are just guesses but they’re also pretty likely ones based on past prizes and red bulls promotional campaigns.

For the last year or so all DLC for Burnout Paradise has been completely free and applied using game updates rather then optionally downloaded, all that is a bout to change… In 2009 Criterion games will be releasing a number of DLC packs for the residents of Paradise City and so far none of them are free. The latest news from the team is that the DLC pack formally known only as “The Island” which was intended to be a free update will now be premium content. However if their previous DLC packs are anything to go by them it’ll be definately worth a few quid and will most likely be snapped up eagerly by anyone still playing the game.

That’s right, the site is all set up and working, there have been a few tweaks to the site to make life easier for everyone:

> The comments on this site are handled by our forums, to post comments you must be registered for the forums. This is to stop auto accounts being created using an exploit in WordPress and also allows more options when posting replies.

> Search is powered by Google, this is because google has the power to search both the main site and the forums at the same time. The search box at the top and our resutls page will be styled more in the coming days to fit in better with the look of the site. and the search feature will be intergrated into the forums at the same time.

> We’re Multiplatform again! initially this relaunch was going to be a PlayStation only site, but due to popular demand it will return to its multiplatform roots.

We’re still working to improve the site and it’s features in every possible way and work will begin on content from Wednesday today and tomorrow will be used more for those last few tweaks and rebuilding of our contacts database, it’s been a while so i hope they remember us ;)

Stupid packs aside though, there are some interesting ones offering increased firepower and armor, now these will sell… Full details below.
