Picked up a copy of the Argos Christmas Catalogue today to see if they had GH: World Tour as most of the time Argos can be that bit cheaper when it comes to the more expensive things in life and at around €200 depending on where you shop GH: World Tour qualifies as expensive. but nothing prepared me for just how expensive it is at my local Argos…

Open the catalogue, and find the items and you’ll see €249.99 beside the now familiar picture of the instruments. This is ridiculous pricing it’s at least €40 more then everywhere else, but wait, it gets worse! after reading the product info there’s a problem… This bundle is just the instruments and the software is a separate buy at €74.99!!! I quickly headed for the counter to see if these were misprints and got a “We haven’t heard anything about that yet so those are the prices till we do”

So at Argos in Ireland Guitar Hero: World Tour will set you back €249.99 for the instruments across all platforms PLUS for the software you’ll have to splash out an extra €74.99 for PS3/360 versions and €59.99 for the Wii version. This is completely stupid pricing and i hope they don’t sell a single copy, but they probably will as everywhere else is sure to sell out and Argos will be the only place with copies…

Burnout Paradise is a perfect example of how games should be released! Criterion Games the studio behind the successful Burnout series are doing everything they can to improve their game and interact with their community. Having released a number of free expansions to Paradise City including Bikes, they’re at it again with “The Ultimate Box” all the previous updates including the all new Party DLC. Burnout Paradise Party will be the first non free expansion, but if previous updates to the game are anything to go by it’ll be well worth a few quid. Burnout Paradise Party and The Ultimate Box will be released in Febuary 2009.

This needs some background for those who are not part of the PlayStation Home BETA… Back during the Games Convention at Leipzig (23 & 24 August) home was on display and the RedFRO’s were in full attendance dancing the weekend away and welcoming the visitors at GC. The MEME was created the day before and I’m proud to say I was there from the start. The RedFRO’s are respected by Sony and were even mentioned during a recent press event by Sony Computer Entertainment America.

So what is a RedFRO? well to become a RedFRO you need to wear the Blue Home T-shirt with red trousers and either the red or white shoes as well as selecting the AFRO hairstyle and colouring it red. see screenshot below.

The RedFRO’s grew in numbers and since GC we’ve been generally having a laugh in the various places in home with a recent FRO reunion party last weekend in the UK home square MC’d by MvdM, i’d post pics of that but they show too much of home and i’d be in breach of the NDA. Also since GC we’ve had the FemFRO’s join us, similar get up but with white trousers as the girls in home don’t have red ones… When the ability to jump servers arrived we invaded America and japan and they now have their own versions BlueFRO in the states and PinkFRO in japan, but the UK RedFRO is the original and best and next time the states have a BlueFRO party we’re going over in force for a FROdown. It’s kinda hard to explain the RedFRO craze to those not in home but you’ll all get to experience it soon as there’s surly be a huge FRO Party on the day open beta is launched to welcome all the new people to home.

On the Private BETA forums over the last while I’ve been documenting my quest to create a real life RedFRO in time for Halloween and I’ve finally got it all sorted all that’s needed are a few tiny tweaks here and there… Click on the read more link below for details and pics of me all FRO’d up…

After just under year away from the net gamers heaven is back in business and this time it’s more focused then before. mainly on PlayStation 3 and the PSP, but it’ll cover anything of interest to those who have any of the PlayStation products.

Speaking of being home, I’m a beta tester of home at the moment and i’ll share all the info i can without breaching the NDA, i can post about my experiences in and my impressions of home, it’s just the features and bugs and stuff i’m not allowed to talk about…

For now i’m still tweaking the site ready for relaunch in November/December, it’s my first time using Word Press so gimme a week or two to fully understand it and we’ll be all set for all the PlayStation info you want along with some of my rants and raves to boot
